LBW Life Before Wedding ... Review

Hmmm…I think everyone are caught up with cricket fever…thanks to the World Cup and let’s wish best to our team. And now I am here to talk about LBW. Hold on! Not the “Leg Before Wicket” that is always controversial…but about the latest movie LBW – Life Before Wedding.

Movie is made with very fresh flavor with all fresh faces…And It’s good it is welcomed with rave reviews too…So check out more of it!!

Plots….

Yeah here we have two separate plots...one happening in our mother land “India”…and other at the Far Far land …but yet the dear “USA”

While swadesi story happens between a good guy “Jai”, short tempered “Rishi” and “Anu”, a girl with set of ideologies. And Videsi story happens between “Rajesh” (ideal but boring), “Varun” (ever active) and bubbly “Radhika”.

Look out for a surprise connection between the 2 plots….

Fresh faces but fantastic actors….

Siddu Jonnalagadda who acted as Rishi, a temperamental guy is at very ease. He wants everything to be fast and have careless attitude. While his best friend jai (Abhejit) is a complete reverse and career oriented. Nishanti Evani acted as Anu…has friendly looks. She gave decent performance as she has to emote well in many stressful situations…

On the other side of the world we have Radhika played by Chinmayi Ghatraju...a vivacious girl. She is confident and has self-respect. No one can face this rowdy rani. And she has two choices between Rajesh (Played by Rohan) the Mr. Perfect and sincere guy and On the other hand she has Varun (played by Asif Tej), the handsome and muscular. All three are very solid good at acting…while Radhika scores lot in looks and oomph factor.

Splendid Technicalities…

Movie shot with Red one Camera and made with a budget of 2.2 crores just surprises us with the amazing quality. Shot in very nice locations in USA, It covers the scenic beauty around the Dallas….while interior locations are equally good. And the hang out places in Hyderabad are nice. Hats off to cinematographers Andrew Redd and Suresh Babu.

Music by Anil is pleasant…The songs are situational with commendable lyrics. So If you listen to them very first time on screen, you will feel the smooth flow on the screen and you need to catch them again on your iPod for the tunes to get over you.

Easy to identify with….

Director Praveen Sattaru has got the chord right. He cleverly brought up the universal theme in current trend and connecting two life styles. In that way, it is easily identifiable with lot youth who work in India and who work abroad. I am sure everyone feels at one stage or other in the movie...that they are part of the movie.

I loved lot of good scenes, where the actors did superb as the scene demands. And the film is least filmy and destiny plays the major role here. And the director cleverly used some back-ground scenes in Geetanjali, Abhinandana…Might be the director loves those classics like we do!!

Drawbacks…

As two stories have some similarities….few scenes look repetitive as we need to go through the same thing again…and even the six songs are like 2 sets one for each triangle.

"Love Aaj Kal" has two parallel stories running in different times, hence the variation. But here as they are at same time period, they look almost same.

Final say…

I was pleasantly surprised with this movie. And I guess reviews generally are read by the urban audience…and if you are reading this piece of review by any chance, you will love the movie… The honest film with praiseworthy performances and good technicalities…a different one to try out.

Rating…

3.5/5 It was targeted at certain age group..20-35…And I guess this appeals them to the best. I wish the director Praveen Sattaru will make many more good movies in future!!
