Salman's Ready Movie Review
But seriously a good female casting is missing opposite them…Likes of Kiron Kher or Fareeda Jalal would have been effective…

Dhobi Ghat Review

It’s Aamir Khan, who always loves to show that variation in choosing the films he act and even more versatile in the movies he puts in money. “Dhobi Ghat” is yet again a diverse film from the house that made “Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par and Peepli Live”. Dhobi Ghat reveals few pages from the dairies of four people in Mumbai, who hail from different walks of society…Kiran Rao directs the flick.
Here’s the detail about the movie….
Four pillars of the film….
Munna (Prateik Babbar)…a Dhobi, with high ambitions, works hard and aspires to become an actor. While he loves his profession and the same time he is self-motivated to win the odds keeping Salman Khan as his idol. He is not different and that makes him easily identifiable. Munna meets Shai...a banker by profession.
Shai (Monica Dogra) is a banker who works in America and visits India for a study on small businesses. With Photography as her hobby, she helps Munna for photographs to build the portfolio for a model. Munna gets fascinated by her simplicity and looks, but Shai is looking at Arun, an Artist.
Arun (Aamir Khan) an isolated artist loves loneliness. He is all set on his new exhibition in Australia. Same time he comes across video dairies in his new home made by an earlier tenant Yasmin.
Yasmin (Krithi Malhotra)… the character only seen in videos is a simple house wife. She wants to showcase her lifestyle to her brother with help of video tapes. Her vision of Mumbai and her lifestyle is nostalgic and there is mysterious truth behind her!!
And there is Mumbai…the heart of this film. The city at times resembles a soothing melody like pure rain…And sometimes reminds us of furious waves that disturb the harmony. City truly has a potential of holding vivacious characters into it.
Honest Performances…
Prateik Babbar is so believable in his portrayal of Munna. His expressions when he hesitantly sits on the Sofa at Shai’s house or when he feels extremely discomfort when Shai keeps on enquiring about Arun.
But it is Monica Dogra as Shai who gets over us very soon and she is best among four. She cleverly maintains that distance with the boy…and she knows the good and bad. She speaks with eyes many a times easily connects with audience.
Aamir is no doubt the reason for pulling the crowds to the theatres to watch an off-beat film but he strictly confines to that. He is definitely a superstar for he accepts a role overshadowed by the debutants. He is good in the role but he limits himself this time.
Krithi Malhotra as Yasmin is sweet. She touches our heart with her down to earth nature. No doubt she haunts us for some time more after we leave the theatre.
Direction and Technical departments…
Aamir’s wife Kiran Rao debuts as director for this film. This is a very tough one for a starter. I believe she succeeded in pleasing her target audience. Screenplay is so tight connecting four characters very cleverly. The little confusion at the beginning is rather an intelligent one to awake us as to watch the movie more caringly.
Gustavo Santaolalla, an international musician who won an academy award for Brokeback Mountain scores music for this one. Music goes in sync with the film and sets the mood.
This is Tushar Kanti Ray’s first film as cinematographer. His vision for the city is something that makes us truly involved in the film. He walks us through streets of Mumbai with lots of crowds, various life styles in the slums, pleasant rain and calm sea.
Movie is not for everyone….
May be Aamir made this movie, more for accolades at film festivals than to entice the regular crowds as he failed in getting Oscar for his previous films. And here comes the warning, this movie is definitely not for regular movie audience who look for entertainment.
One should tune his mind so much that “I am gonna watch an off-beat film which many a times are made in Kerala”. Though movie is just 90 minutes, you feel it sufficiently long as Kiran fails to infuse humor and thus could not make an interesting narration. As this movie reads few pages of certain Mumbai dairies…and so there’s no regular “The End” as we expect.
Final Say…
Strictly don’t expect an entertaining stuff…and if you are keen on admiring a different film that is not loud, you can give it a try.

I go with 3 stars…

Guzaarish Movie Review

Sanjay Leela Bhansali…Hrithik Roshan…Aishwarya Rai. I cannot imagine a perfect blend than this trio at least for a moment I heard it for the first time. And the result…The “Guzaarish” is out. It’s a quick third for Aishwarya and a faster one for Hrithik this year…
Let’s check out how far Bhansali has succeeded in this “Black” “magic”…
Plot: Ethan (Hrithik) was a great magician in past who then is paralyzed due to an accident during one of his magical shows. He had to confine himself to his bed for 14 years. Sophia (Aishwarya), a nurse by profession takes care of his entire needs. Ethan also runs a Radio show “Radio Zindagi” and inspires many lives.
As his health condition weakens further, Ethan files a petition for mercy killing! This decision of his comes as a surprise and is opposed by the court and his kith and kin. Whether is request “Guzaarish” to end his painful life is accepted or not? is the entire movie about
Outstanding performances:
Hrithik Roshan: It’s a daring stunt for an energetic dancer like him to play a role that is confined to a wheel chair…And Hrithik no doubt delivered his fullest efforts to make us believe in Ethan. It would have been real wrong decision if the movie had taken years to wrap up, but thanks for things moved faster. Of course few glances of magical shows depicting his glorious past are the real feast compared to his agony…
Aishwarya Rai: World’s once most beautiful lady clad in black uniform throughout, May be it is only possible for Aish to pull it off the role of Sophia with elegance. She is honest …she is subtle. She understands Sophia to the core. It’s not a surprise if she takes more brownie points with this movie…because after all it’s her life that’s been sacrificed for someone she adores.
Aditya Roy Kapoor who is last seen with Aish in “Action Replay” played Omar Siddique who learns magic from Ethan. Welcome this promising lad for he is to stay for long with us with cool acts.
Shernaz Patel as Devyani, Ethan’s friend and Lawyer is best as friend and worst as Lawyer as he quotes in climax.
Suhel Seth as the doctor and Nafisa Ali as Ethan’s mother leaves their mark.
Pain is really not felt…!!
Yes we are prepared for the plot, fully tuned our mindset to bear some sob saga for two hours looking at the teasers for the sake of performances. Firstly one would wonder why Bhansali should take a paining task of confining an avid dancer with lightening speed in a wheel chair and a beautiful lady in black uniform (I wonder is that the uniform of a nurse, she could at least try some other colors often at least when she goes to court and later dances in the bar). Had it been great and commercially viable, if the director had chosen some lively theme utilizing the strengths and charm of the lead pair?
Secondly one could barely connect with the entire set up… There are hardly handful of sets that make the movie more like a stage play. And the court scenes, we wonder why the two lawyers often bark at the judge so much that someone is killing them in the name of euthanasia…
With stretched theme throughout and slow narration at times and jumbling the proceedings at the end with the return of Sophia’s husband, the real pain of the Ethan is not felt but a pain of we struck in our seat in the theatre is felt in between.
Brownie points by the way…
That’s gist of performances and pain together, nevertheless there are sparks all over…I loved the touching scenes here and there…like When Ethan explains his first trick to bring a smile on his mother’s face…When Ethan combats with rain drops from leaking roof, Ethan’s gift to Omar on his completion of course… etc
And the chemistry of Aish-Hrithik still speaks tons and it is admirable of a believable love story between the couple that is never near to the imagination if not them!!
Glances of Ethan’s magical performances where he rocks the dance floor along with his ex-assistant played by Moni Kongana Dutta are a delight and I loved the climax for it is only colorful event throughout.
Two songs that are simply great are “Sau gram Zindagi” which is lyrically richer too and “Tera Zikr Hai ya Itra hai” fantastically shot. And excellent background score that helps the audience to indulge in the movie. Full marks to the musician in Bhansali himself!!
Final Say…
Guzaarish by its genre seeks the compromise from the audience in terms of entertainment. Do watch it only if you love Aish-Hrithik together no matter they amuse you or not. And you might end up liking it for the good things mentioned. Not in mood for misery, Skip it for Harry Potter….

Action Replayy Review

With Diwali around…along with the crackers…colorful skies…great food and fun…It’s a high time for movies in Bollywood…And this time we had Akshay and Aishwarya Rai’s “Action Replay” which by its promos promises the revival of Bollywood of 70’s…
Let’s check out how it is…
Plot: Bunty(Aditya Roy Kapoor) is not happy about unremitting quarrels between his dad Kishan(Akshay) who looks like nerd and his mom Mala(Aishwarya) who spends all her time shopping. Bunty’s grandpa invents a time-machine that could travel back in past. When he comes to know that their parent’s marriage began with hatred, Bunty decides to restart their bonding with love taking the help of the time machine…
How this tough task is accomplished is the entire movie about….
Cast:
Akshay should be appreciated ton for being in much deglamorised look for more than half movie. He infuses life into his character…Lives it so great that u love the looks. This is completely different from mundane comedy he was doing in his recent flicks. And he gives one of his finest performances. Big kudos to him.
Aishwarya is no exception. Her presence is bliss…She connects us to the dream girls of the past so easily…a good choice made in casting her. Her hairstyle, costumes everything suited her. She has done her best…
American born Indian actor Aditya Roy Kapoor is a pleasant surprise. Oh what a confidence shown by him… He moved the proceedings so gently…and his performance in emotion scenes is touching. It was lovable when he tries hard to unite his parents…Saw him in the trailers of Guzaarish..And so he would be one more reason to wait for that flick.
OmPuri as Akshay’s father and Kiron Kher as Aishwarya’s mother are good enough. Ranadheer Kapoor is seen as the scientist. I liked Rajpal Yadav in this movie far better than many of his other flicks.
RanVijay singh as Kundan who woos Mala is good. Neha Dhupia just fills a gap but any other girl could have done it.
Should have been much better!!
Music by Pritam is pathetic. Seems he is original this time!! Many Songs actually break the flow and test our patience even though they are placed well.
Editing is not crisp and that makes the proceedings prolonged especially in second half. When you think “This is the end” that was not the end but you are still in middle of it.
And story has opportunity of holding many twists but there was no conflict as such as things go very easy and predictable for the protagonists.
And I feel movie could have even better visuals than it possesses now.
Director Vipul shah is good in parts but his ideas are stuck in past where the plot of the movie is set.
But you can give a try for…
Very Good Performances from the lead actors Akshay, Aishwarya and Aditya Roy Kapoor!
Comedy in the movie is good in parts. Best part is …it is very neat and not loud.
Plot as such is sweet where Son tries to better his parents bonding and the emotions are shown very good.
Though the movie might not be best in visuals…but something of past might entice the audience as it offers some variety…
Final say…
All in all though ‘action replay’ is far from being the best, this one is a decent watch for just a time pass.
Rating
2.5/5 for good performances and decent content.

Dabangg Review

Lucky you Salman for enjoying the best festival season of Bollywood solely. His new venture Dabangg meaning “Fearless” went on to become biggest grosser for a weekend crossing the “3 Idiots". Movie is directed by debut-ant Abhinav Kashyap and is Salman's home production.
Let’s take a quick look whether it is really worth it and would create history going further…
Chulbul kaa Kahaani :
Dabangg is story of Chulbul pandey aka (he fondly calls himself) Robinhood Pandey , a fearless police officer. He is not a typical Bollywood honest cop but has his own style of setting things right. He hates his step father(Vinod Khanna) and step brother(Arbaaz) just as much he loves his mother(Dimple Kapadia) . At the same time his heart skips beat when he sees Rajo(Sonakshi).
Loved the Trailer…But
Hmmm…frankly it was tempting trailers and tapping music that dragged me to the theatres. Salman beating bad guys and wooing his lady love…and he beats and then woos..And then beats and then…sorry am I repetitive…but that’s what you find on screen and finish half the movie by the way .
Yes things just don’t move for the god’s sake. We never feel convinced at all why Salman is so indifferent to his family to an extent that he marries his love in the arrangements made for his brother.
One might love the songs irrespective of Salman’s so-so dance moves but need to bear the loud fights with piercing bullets in frequent intervals. All the dull characters wake up with us in last half hour and then a predicted family drama leads to much lengthier fight.
Performances
Salman, the long lasting bachelor khan of Bollywood is the heart of this chick flick. His knocking punches …spontaneous dialogues made the audience and of course his fans cheer for a while. The role of Chulbul pandey is just tailor made for him. Nevertheless he is losing the charm he carried so far.
Sonakshi Sinha…daughter of Satrugna sinha had her dream debut with her favorite co-star. She has lovely screen appearance thanks to her “Mast Mast..Do nain”…no doubt they steal our hearts…But her character is dumber on screen.
Dimple Kapadia is very dearer. We just miss her in the midway. Vinod Khanna is good enough. No complaints on Arbaaz khan either.
Sonu Sood as cheddi Singh is perfect bad boy of the movie for he looked hunkier than the Salman himself…
Mahesh manjrekar as heroine’s father, Ompuri as other cop are passable.
Songs and Salman!!
Songs are at the top of all No doubt. “Tere Mast Mast..Do nain” “Sachi Sachi tere nazarein ek darpan” are nice to hear and are simply great on screen…
Then there is Malaika’s song “Munni badnaam hui..darling tere liye..” that wakes you up and shakes your foot.
Then we have some one-liners from Salman…in a fashion “araam jadey se yaad aagaya..aap key aadarneey pitaji kaisey hai” . His dance moves for the ring tones of the goons, his hatke se walking style and his not so great but ok-ok dance moves all contribute to the cheers we have.
Final say…
Though the movie enjoyed the best weekend ever…it is no way gonna carry the success so long.
Peppy songs and the stunning statistics might drive you to the theatres, prepare yourself for a typical Amitab’s 80’s entertainer…and a whole barrel of red color (bloodshed) along with tons of noisy encounters.

We are family Review

Are you keen on having a look at the indianized version of ‘Step mom’, Produced by Karan Johar and directed by debutant Siddardh Malhotra. You might be, because the posters might drag you to the theatres because they have old wine Kajol along with tempting vodka Kareena…
Plot: It’s a story of a man, two ladies, three children and lots of tears….
Family members:
Arjun Rampal He looked apt for the role and has done justice as a husband who is tangled between his ex-wife who is about to leave this world, his new caring girlfriend and his three loving kids
It’s cake walk for Kajol to play a mother who is suffering with cervical cancer and who is reluctant to leave this world. She is natural and best suited the role.
Bebo (Kareena) is the surprise. She is no more zero size so she looks gorgeous and cute in all the outfits. You might think twice when asked who among Kajol and Kareena scored more in acting …Yes you guessed right as you might incline to Kareena, because she is more appealing as she got meatier role obviously for she is the step mom.
All the three kids were great and their performance is superb.
Melodrama…Err…’Hell’ O’ Drama
Needless to say how the movie turns out to be if we have a cancer patient in the movie. Tons of moments to bring out tears and the characters act smartly to hide their pain and try to laugh and sing and dance at disco. And you know the sorrow is tripled because we have 3 kids and all the proceedings happen thrice. Add to it, we had two ladies behaving like cat and mice.
I love the role of the doctor, because she is one who puts this drama to an end periodically by conveying the health status of Kajol and thus bringing forth the movie to an end.
Ok…Goodies now.
Nevertheless there were tender moments especially the scenes with the kids. It was touching to find them in such a situation and later how they cope up with their new mom. Teenage girl’s character is developed pretty well and the director is able to capture her tantrums perfectly.
If Kajol is stuck in the pain, It’s Kareena who made some merry and made the kids happy along with the audience.
Bit surprising to know that Shanker, Ehsaan and Loy gave the music, may be because the music flows in sync with the script. The supposed to be Rocking Disco number is the only one that is heard out because it is so bad and loud. Other tracks neither haunt you nor distract you.
Final Say:
I found no specific exciting thing about this family except some fine chemistry between Kareena and Kajol.
Catch it if you gel well with daily soaps

Lafangey Parindey Review

Lafangey Parindey brought together a new pair of Neil Nithin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone. It’s a movie about the positive spirit in life. Movie is directed by Pradeep Sarkar who shot to fame with his debut Parineeta and is produced by Yash Raj Films…
Plot: It’s a story of Pinky (Deepika), a girl next door who dreams to win a reality show. But as the fate would have, she loses her eye-sight in an accident. Nandu comes to her rescue and nurtures her shattered dreams.
Parindey…
Deepika is very cute in the movie. She had tried something which she never did before and she is natural as the girl next door. Though she did not give her full justice to the blind girl role, she is passable. Who knows a better performance could have fetched her, an award!!
Neil is lovable in this one. Though he was dominated by his co-star, he made his presence felt. But he should be more pro-active in many scenes…seems there’s lot of scope yet where he need to garnish himself. But nevertheless he was good enough for the role.
Among others…Namit dass who acted as chaddi, hero’s friend acted very well. Other friends are good too. Kay Kay menon did brief appearance.
Cool Plus points…
Music by R.Anandh is fresh and captures your attention in first listen. Picturization of the songs is natural and enhanced the music. Even the background score is effective…
“Man Lafangey”, “Nain Parindey”, “Lafangey Parindey” and “Dhatad Tatad” are all catchy.
Hilarious one liners got great applause from the crowd…
Camera work is good, but again there are very limited locations.
Ok now drawbacks…
Hmmm…may be 90% of our bollywood flicks are predictable …So anyways no point in complaining about the same. The plot is so simple and there is no struggle or some challenging situations that come across the lead pair.
No extra effort is thrown on Reality shows and the performances are just shown in a glance. A more of competitive scenario would bring a gripping climax
Tidbits
People from south can relate this flick to super hit film done by simran in lead in Tamil and Telugu, where Vijay and Nagarjuna were her co-stars respectively in two versions.
Final Say…
Though the movie do not stand either besides Pradeep Sarkar's debut Parineeta…It’s better than Yash Raj productions recent products…
Fresh chemistry of Deepika-Neil, scintillating music, very good dialogues , short duration, straight forward narration…All in all kept together make it a decent watch.

Peepli [Live] Review

Happy Independence Day friends…And also I am here for sharing something about a movie that truly depicts our rural India after 63 years of freedom. Yes it is “Peepli Live” from the production house of Man with Midas touch…Mister Perfect Aamir Khan.
Theme: Peepli Live is a story of two farmer brothers in a small village in Peepli consistency. Naththa, the younger of them steps forward to commit suicide so that his family could collect the money given as compensation for a farmer’s suicide and thus protect his land. In the process, media plays unnecessary active role and added to it are nasty politics that makes things more of fun.
People of Peepli…
Omkar Das Manikpuri, a prominent theatre artist made his debut with the lead role Naththa. His innocent expressions, natural ways of acting filled the life into the character.
Raghubir Yadav who is well known for his role in Lagaan, played elder brother of Naththa. Raghubir is multi-faceted artiste who is also a musician and set designer.
Shalini Vatsa who played Naththa’s wife is also an acclaimed theatre artiste. She too is simply spontaneous.
Then we had Nawazuddin as local reporter, Malaika Shenoy and Vishal Sharma as rival reporters and Sitaram Panchal as local leader, Faruk Zaffer as old lady in the film are among others who have done their roles extremely well.
All iz well for Aamir Khan and Anusha Rizvi…
Who better than a journalist turned director Anusha Rizvi could handle a movie that deals with a social cause and a sarcastic effort against media and politicians. She blended the agony of peasants and fun generated while media is craving for making their presence felt and thus passed the bitter message in appealing fashion. She should be appreciated for a noble intention and bravely sticking to the point.
It was ‘Lagaan’ then and ‘Taare Zameen Par’ yesterday and now the Peepli where each of Aamir’s productions has chosen a path less travelled. Needless to say that is the obvious reason for his graph to zoom in such way for playing different roles and producing the path breaking films.
What to watch for…
Peepli Live showcases the poverty prevailing in our country in very much lighter way. Be it be the pain taken by the brothers or death of a farmer who sells the mud for his livelihood or it be a complaining wife who struggles to run the family or it be the entire state of a present village or opportunistic politicians…Everything touches our heart and raises innumerable questions about our progress in past 60 years.
On the other hand, Look out for sarcasm on media that is truly shameful and is no doubt highly irritating many. Of course this kind of criticism on media and politics is not new for Indian cinema, but it reaches the heights when coverage is made on Naththa’s shit and that scene might be the biggest slap for present journalism which really makes lot of noise out of a shit.
Funny one liners, Good music, Smooth camera work all supported the movie in good manner.
Final word…
Nevertheless it does not match the Aamir Khan’s previous production ventures in providing the entertainment. Also it neither even tries to reach Sharukh’s Swadesh in driving the point.
But Peepli Live is a cute small film in its own style… and definitely watchable for its honest approach.
Do try to watch if at all you have leisure.

Raavan Vs Rajneeti

This June Bollywood witnessed modernized versions of two great epics Ramayana and Mahabharata.
While Rajneeti, the Political saga in the lines of Mahabharata has won the box-office, Raavan which is the inverted Ramayana has just got the mediocre response…
Let’s have a Quick look…what worked well for both…and what did not!!
Refurbished Epics:
Prakash Jha, the director of Rajneeti conveyed the rivalry between the step sons cleverly relating every character to that in one of the largest epics. The struggle for power and the animosity between the siblings is the same that has been prevailing with the ages. So references to Mahabharata enhanced the director’s vision in revealing the dark side and inner view of the political families. Audiences were of similar joy when we could solve ‘Match the following’ puzzle, while they could grasp those references.
ManiRatnam on other hand made a bold version of Ramayana, Where Raavan is shown as idol, While Ram is belittled in the eyes of Sita. This kind of inversion is no doubt was sort of variety to the audience. Moreover as the Ramayan is told several times on the screen, there would have been no point in Maniratnam driving the original story again.
So Basic Content wise both are equally good….
Characters and Actors:
People say Raavan in original is no bad but circumstances made him look like that. Even in Ramayan, no where we had something to say that Raavan tortured Sita. She was left to her wish and Raavan waited patiently for her. In the Movie too, Raavan(Beera) is shown as a loyal leader of his tribe and his kidnapping Sita(Raagini) was only to avenge Police officer Rama(Dev) for his sister’s(Priyamani) death who eventually is sexually abused by the police. In her short tenure with Ravan, sita could visualize brighter side of the evil and at the same time devilish side of the good.
Abhishek is good as Raavan…and Aishwarya was no less than the celestial goddess. Vikram is limited in Hindi, while he was brilliant in southern version...and Priyamani makes her mark.
Coming to Rajneeti, We see Arjun Rampal as DharmaRaj and Ranbir Kapoor as Arjun. But these guys are not as ideal as Pandava’s. While Age old DharmaRaj could not even lie properly when he says “Aswaddama ‘hatah kunjara ha’”...Arjunrampal is shown as brutal murderer and a womanizer. Even Ranbir was shown as the master mind that is corrupted and calculative.Interesting part is AjayDevagan (lower caste leader) as Karna and he is befriended by ManojBajPai (Duryodhan) .While Karna’s father is Chariot Driver; he is shown as car driver here. Remember Karna’s chariot gets stuck in mud in the war, and here Ajay’s Car is seen broke down in the climax. Katrina is the modern age Draupadi who loves Ranbir but need to marry Arjunrampal in the same way as the Draupadi is shared by all five brothers.
What worked…What did not?
It was the gripping screenplay and punch packed performances by all the actors that worked really well for Rajneeti. Though Lengthy and is filled with lot of characters, the movie manages to keep the pace till the Climax.Ranbir scores more than anyone .
On the Flip side the dialog were so dramatic that the actors felt as if they were enacting BRchopra’s Classical soap just wearing modern outfits. When Kunti calls Karna as “Jyesta Putra”, there were couple of laughs in theater. Also the serial killings in short span of election campaign with neither post investigations nor the hard feelings was quite unnatural.
It was Cinematography by Santosh Sivan that worked wonders for Raavan. Each frame is a visual feast on its own. The locations chosen for the forests and the steep hills were all amazing. The Pre-Climax fight on the wooden bridge is delight to watch. While music might not have created magic, but is good enough.
The characters in Raavan were not so strong and failed to make a resemblance with the epic. There was no curiosity factor and no attachment of the audience in a much predictable and simple plot.
Final Verdict:
The Engaging narration and the honest portrayals worked great for Rajneeti. As we discussed earlier the epic resemblance worked here well. Raavan which was technically great could appeal to only fewer set of audience.
So if you are for serious drama, Rajneeti is safe bet. But if you could admire the technical aspects, Raavan stands out.
Ratings:
Rajneeti stands little above 3 and Raavan is little below 3.

Kites Review
.jpg)
Macho Man Hrithik –Mesmerizing Mexican Beauty Barbara and Tempting trailers...What else a movie needs to get great openings. And yes it did it, Kites grossed over 21 crore on its opening weekend thanks to pre-hype that was been created and whopping number of screens it is released .It stood second just behind 3 idiots in terms of opening weekend collections.Could it sustain its stand in long run..Let’s check out..?
Story: Jai (Hrithik) tries out all sorts to earn money and he even marries many illegal immigrant girls to fetch them green cards. As luck would have it, Gina (Kangana) daughter of an affluent casino owner falls for J. He pretends love with her to grab the share of riches. On the other hand, Natasha an illegal immigrant from Mexico does the same with Gina’s brother Tony. Accidentally Natasha was once married to J.
What happens when real love blossoms between these two crooks? Love of life on one side and lavish luxuries on the other? Which side they opt to? Is all the movie about.
Actors:
Hrithik is in exactly the role his fans want him to be in…He is dashing, He is damn hot .He has an excellent dance sequence in the movie to amuse us… And off course he has acted to the mark
Barbara Mori is fabulous... She is sexy, she is svelte and she is amazing. So many adjectives because she is not just the skin show but she is brilliant actress too.She has lived her role.
Kangana Ranaut is limited but she looked great. Kabir bedi as her father is good. Other among who got noticed are the actors who played Kangana’s brother, Hrithiks friend …did their part well.
Good Things first:
It’s the crackling chemistry between Hrithik and Barbara that solely works for the flick.
It’s an obvious surprise that two people who can’t speak out each other’s languages are in a bond. But they both are fantastic together and they truly made believe the happenings on screen look amusing.
And there are quite a few action sequences/chases to pump in adrenaline. I liked the one where Hrithik sets free the cars in the truck.
Then there are those tender romantic moments that touch the hearts. The Scene beside Lasvegas fountains, Bank robbery scene, following hotel scene and Rain dance sequence etc and etc
Hrithik’s dance moves with kangana are very good.
Captivating Cinematography made every scene look superb. Whether it is a Las Vegas Fountains…or some Mexican desert or the California highways…All looked bright
On the Flip side...
“Kites” which is over-hyped as an unconventional bollywood movie for global audience turns out to be just a run-out-of-mill flick.
Movie offers no novelty and is much predictable. The continuous chase-romance cycle becomes repetitive after a while.
Though the climax is apt and obvious, it makes you think whether the lead couple is foolish for not having expected the same.
May be more fun...more clever moves by the couple might have lead us to happy 'Dhoom' Climax!!
Final Verdict:
“Kites” is a movie of a kind “you hate it” or “you love it”…
If you visit the movie just for having glance of gorgeous couple…with least expectations…I am sure you will not be disappointed.
But if you had thought it is never before…You might not love it.
It’s one time watch for Hrithik and Barbara and for all those good points mentioned.
Rating:
3/5 ...Way better than many bollywood flicks

Prince..Review

Vivek Oberoi,Most of them might have forgotten this “Company” star. But he made surprise visit to the theatres this week as Prince!!Moreover he is doing the lead role in Much Awaited RGV’s “Raktha Charithra”. So one can treat this as warm up session
If anyone who are ready to watch the Prince this Sunday,Please spare a moment to read this piece and you can make your decision!!
Story :
Prince is seen waking up in a bungalow somewhere in deserts of South Africa only to realize that he has become Ghazini(yupp he loses his memory). He Slowly realizes that he has stolen a “Valuable” coin worth of 1000 million(Really don’t know on what basis producers attach a price tag!!) and Police and Goons are behind him to grab it.As luck would have it he is hit by three hot beauties,Where in each claim thats he is his girl friend “Maya”.
Hold on..Hold on..If you try to find answers to these questions..I am sure you gonna loose your memory..
Total Scrap :
Yeah..From the very first scene you realize that it have been better if you had kept your brain in a refrigerator while coming to the movie because the Prince has every chance to steal it.
Have you ever seen a memory chip which analyses the brain and shows all the past happenings on a HD TV!!!!Yes actually this "Extra Ordinarily artificial Mind-blocking invention"memory chip is embedded in that coin..And for this coin..All the brainless characters run all through the movie..
Though continuous noise of bullets annoys us severely,Not even a single bullet hurts the Prince..
That’s not the end..Our Prince jumps from the skyscrapers like a Batman and clings to the walls like a SpiderMan.Funniest part is he has some Bus or Lorry where he falls finally.
Anyways this movie serves you better to have quite a few laughs
Actors :
Vivek Oberoi lost the charm.Nandana Sen did better among 3 ladies.
Remaining characters are dumb.
Don’t ever get tempted of the hot ladies and I think they can be better viewed online. Trust me none of the three have in them.
Final Verdict :
I wish at least some of you save few bucks and spend the same for charity!!
Because Prince will mince our little brain for sure J
1 and half out of 5 because we did have really nice time laughing all over and Off course movie duration is just 2 hours

My Name is Khan Review
.jpg)
‘My Name is Khan’ brings back the combo package “Sharukh,Karan and Kajol” after 4 years .The trio is still remembered for ’ Kuch Kuch hota hai’ which over-shades much forgettable KANK.Now where does this latest movie stands and to which side it more inclines to..Let’s see
9/11 has become raw material for many scripts ,that are haunting the audience more than the misery that occurred then.We already had much of it from recent movies like Newyork,Qurbaan etc . But viewers are again forced to watch a movie with the same old theme, only because it was the king khan playing the lead this time .Well Off Course the same message can be conveyed in ‘n’ number of ways,No offense in it as we do have innumerable love stories and they are accepted well provided they are novel .
Story
Story is of a Muslim by name Rizwan khan.Rizwan suffers from strange disease (Asperger’s Syndrome:Lack of social tact, the fear of loud sounds, and an incredibly high IQ characterize the symptoms of the medical condition) due to which he could not interact with people socially. He strongly believed his mother’s words “Human’s should not be discriminated based on religion, but they differ based on their character,Good or Bad”.After his mother’s demise,He moves to USA to stay with his brother. There he meets Mandira, who lives with her six-year old son Sameer from a failed marriage. His Uniqueness brings him closer to her and they marry for peace till 9/11.The actual trouble starts post 9/11 when muslims are suspected a lot. Sameer looses his life in a tussle with few college ruffians only because his last name is ‘khan’.Shattered Mandira blames Rizwan for her loss and leaves him forever saying that he will be looked upon as a terrorist as long as he is ‘Khan’ even if he persuades US President.
Rizwan now sets out on a journey to meet US President to strongly convey his message “My name is Khan and I am not a Terrorist”.In the process he comes across many obstacles but he stand by his honesty and his belief in good brings back the support of the nation.
Good things first..
Well Story(by shibani Bhatija) was definitely different from previously made movies based on 9/11.’My Name is Khan’ emphasizes more on humanism rather than terrorism.Karan johar should be appreciated for being equally honest as his lead character in the driving the point. There’s no place for candid Romance or irritating comedy. Some sparks seen all through the movie definitely remarks his evolution of maturity.
Sharukh khan as a man with a disorder gets his character right. His body-language and expressions were marvelous. Definitely some may find his acting monotonous ,but sharukh instills that aspect in his character so much that as the time passes one starts appreciating him.Kajol still has it in her.She was amazing .She is still the same girl next door, carries both happy and tragic moments with a great ease.
On-Screen chemistry of the lead pair that is also the USP of the movie has lightened up the screen once again. They both make undoubtedly one of the best pairs of Indian cinema.Jimmy Shergil,Soniya Jehan(sharuks bro and bhaabi) and Zarina wahab(mother) stands out in the remaining screen space available. The small boy who acted as sameer acted well.
Cinematography and production values are superb and top-notch.
Music by Shanker-ehsaan-Loy do not create any magic this time.
What went wrong!!!
Movie is lengthy and it comes as bitter capsule(lacks entertainment). There are some countable factors that went wrong that unknowingly has spoilt or we can say killed the spirit and made the movie short of being called a great movie.Firstly viewers felt basic theme, outdated as it being tested several times and its been long time now since the 9/11 happened.
Definitely our Indian cinema is proud that it is accepted globally,But what is still irritating is some stupid Bollywood liberties our directors take .It’s mere foolishness making the people belonging to other part of the world behave in stupidly.Like in Qurbaan, we see Saif killing number of cops in no time and here Sharukh reaches Georgia to save the people in floods before the US government could react upon it. Karan shows off his extra talent in few scenes where entire episode of Khan mania is slightly over-hyped.
Final Verdict :
Sharukh once again lost the battle against Aamir, but he should be appreciated for playing a role atleast more meaningful compared to his previous movies. No Review can stop the fans of the lead pair and trio off course in watching the movie. And this time they might not repeat even half the success of Karan’s debut venture. Those who watched the movie would definitely remind Karan the old proverb"Dog should do its duty ,while donkey should do it's".Watch it if u love the lead pair and you will definitely enjoy the movie if you like Karan Johar has just got up from the long Sleep after 9/11.
3/5.
