A Tribute to Tendulkar

Sachin’s extraordinary double ton has bought smiles on our faces. Everyone in India are proud that an Indian Batsman was first to score 200 in 1-day match. That too it being achieved by Sachin doubled the happiness. We all know that Apart from his Excellency, It is also his attitude and sportsmanship that won him lakhs of fans all over the world.

Here is a small poem in Telugu written by me on Sachin tendulkar to celebrate his success.

Ye Maaya chesaave review

“Ye Maaya Chesaavey”..The title with poetic feel is making rounds for quite some days..As this is Goutam Menon Directorial and also boasts of music by ARRahman.It is a second movie of Nagachaitanya too. Music being already a chart-buster, expectations piled up on the movie. This made me go for it in spite of heavy snow last night.

Did the magic worked as the title suggests..

Story:

Karthik (A fresh mechanical Engineer) aspires to become a movie director. It’s a Love at first sight for him when he see’s Jessie.As the fate would have it, these couple has lots of barriers .They are of different religion, different mother tongue and added to it Jessie is two years elder than Karthik.Morover Jessies father thinks making movies is a mean job.

Amidst these many dissimilarities ,Did they unite at the end or not? Is all the movie about.

Movie also talks about simple guy who is straightforward, seeking a hand of girl with complex mind.

Actors :

NagaChaitanya as Karthik is excellent.While he was killed with heavy characterization in josh,This movie offered him quite a simple character of his age.He came up with brilliant performance combined with ease.He has improved a lot in his histrionics. But he has lot of scope to better himself in dances.He is just better than his dad in that aspect.There were many close shots and he passed the litmus test easily.He should remain doing lover boy roles for quite some time as his boyish looks suit them more.surely he is in the race now.

Samantha,she scores full with her debut.She is very beautiful in the movie. The husky voice given to her added to it (reminds you of Voice of gopika in autograph).Also she is brilliant in acting department .Her expressions are natural and she lived in the character of a complex women. She looks like kamilini in some angles. The costumes given to her are very nice and simple .Gautham always portrays his heroines in such an aesthetic manner(reema in cheli,Asin in Garshana etc).Previously we had Bapu and viswanath show their heroines brilliantly . And now I feel Gautham,Sekhar kammula Krishnavamsi etc are few who are good in that.

Krishnudu as friend of hero is very good and provided great relief if not movie would be more a dull movie than it is now.

Sanjay swaroop(husband of manjula(mahesh’s sister)) did the role of hero’s father.Devan acted as heroines father.

Technical Departments:

Goutam Menon was very natural in each and every scene with no melodrama.Screen Play flows from scene to scene as we see some story going in our neighbourhood.Fresh faces he has chosen for the script made a nice impact.

Music by ARRehman stands out in the entire crew.He is at his best yet again.Songs are still more colorful in picturization.Background score carries the mood.

Cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa is top-notch.Locations captured in Kerala are simply superb.It’s even quite joy when we see all the places around Newjersey on the silver screen .

Production values of Indira Productions are excellent.

Analysis:

But there are few things that are not in sync

As of story, there is nothing new that is offered. I myself remember watching lots of these kind of stories right from my childhood (From Sitakokachilaka starring Karthik and aruna,Bombay etc etc).But a minor difference is attributed to it by strong technical team that worked in the back.

Movie as of can be divided into two halves where first is good and second is bad.

While the first half just moves on with some lighter moments,good songs,Comedy bits by Krishnudu here and there.

But you need to pay for it in the later part.Very slow narration post interval really tests our patience.Audience already came across several similar love stories so far with the first half almost the same which we saw before and they do expect some promising second half .Added to it heroines complex nature annoys us and it reaches peak at one point.

The director dissapoints with no great climax and i feel it ended up in a same lines of dil raju's recent movie.Somehow he managed a bit at the end to see the smiling faces on the crowd.

Final word:

Firstly it’s not a must watch as many websites suggest. Movie definitely deserves big round applause for the technical aspects and nice performances by the lead.But the dull second half brings us down for sure.

Do watch it only in group or with your better partner if you have nothing else to do.Or you can watch it even if you admire Goutam Menon and ARRehman.But still I am not in agreement that movie is great as such.

Tidbits:

Working title of the movie is ‘Jessie’(heroines name).Movie is supposed to made with Mahesh as hero.But as we know Mahesh is busy man with no work at all!!!So things did not happen.

Puri Jagan played his real life role.Incidentally he is the director of Manjula's earlier film Pokiri.

Gautam Menon acted in one shooting scene with Krishnudu.Observe it.

Get the glimpses of Princeton university and Bridgewater temple and many locations around Newjersey in the movie.

Cameo by trisha and simbu who starred in the tamil version added some relief.

Fresh Face(2) - Samantha

This week,Fresh face is Samantha.She is making her debut with movie ‘Ye maaya chesaave’.Movie is directed by maverick director Goutham menon and Music composed by Oscar award winner AR Rahman.Movie is getting released this weekend.

She looks really gorgeous, Doesn't she?.She is playing a role of christian girl in the film.Same role is played by Trisha in the Tamil version which is going to be released simultaneously.Seems that she has got a author backed role which actually requires a big actress.

Though Samantha belongs to tamilnadu,Her father is a telugu.But this cute girl claims that she could not speak telugu,Clever indeed as she could not make it big if she speaks the language fluently(pity of tollywood)!!

Samantha already acted in couple of tamil films,but they are yet to be released. She also bagged the role in Dil Raju’s Brindavanam opposite NTR .So she had two promising movies in her kitty and if luck would have it,she might be next hot property in tinsel town.Good luck Samantha!

Ye Maaya chesaave..ARRahman Musical!!

‘Ye Maaya chesaavey’ directed by Gautham Menon,is a romantic love story starring Nagachaitanya and Samantha.It is an ARRahman Musical.Incidentally this is first release of Rahman after he received the Oscar.This album from the legend is so Youthful and fresh and no doubt will remains top in the charts in coming days..

I am Listing the songs in order , I liked them..

Kundanapu Bomma : The Album starts with the beautiful number.Its amazing blend of classical and western.Likely hummable by everyone.Sung very well by Benny Danyl,this song haunts us very soon.Kalyani Menon renders malayalam lyrics in between in classical way.A very good start for the great album.Song is about a guy describing his love.

EE Hrudayam : Song starts slowly but soon gets the pace with repeatedly hummable words “O Sona O Sona”.There is also English lyrics (Rap mix) in the song.Its a unique blend .Sung by Vijay prakash excellently.This song catches ur attention very easily .

Aakasam enthuntundo naalo prema anthundey : Fast peppy number.Again male solo sung.Though it is fast ,Lyrics are very clear and catchy.Sung by Naresh Iyer,This energetic number makes us dance.Essence of the song is “Guy shows the energy levels of his love and conveys not to hesitate to reciprocate the same”

Vintunnaava : Beautiful melody sung more beautifully by Shreya Goshal and Karthik.Nice lyrics.Soothes the mind.Good song to play on when you just wanna enjoy the music without getting disturbed.Song is bit lengthy spanning 7 minutes.

Manasaa malli malli choosa..gilli gilli choosa : Again a fast beat with racy music.I liked the lyrics very much.Very good work by sriram.New voice of Devan gets in sync with that of Chinmayi.WE will have background music of ”Ananda ananda maayena..maa ramayya pellikodukaayeney” in between.Very good song.Situation might be of some marriage.Song carries the message "No one can seperate the Lovers who are destined to meet"

Swaasye : Very slow melody with beautiful guitar riffs.Karthik is at his best.His voice is in harmony with the music.Off course duration is less this time.Only 3 min.

Aaromale : this is completely Malayalam song.This is sung by Alphones.Though we might not understand the song,It’s good to liston,Sung very well.

Anantha sriram wrote all the songs (except the last Malayalam and English Lyrics).It was in deed a great achievement for him and considering the number of films Rahman do in telugu,It’s even enviable to fellow writers.Sriram’s lyrics are catchy,simple and at the same time awesome.

Music never dominated any lyric .It was completely new and refreshing.I think this was Rahman’s work for a completely love story after Sakhi.Let’s hope the movie too does well.

Never Miss the melodies..As the title suggests they are creating the magic!!

LEADER REVIEW

Leader kept many people waiting just as the election result.There might be two important reasons for it,First it being introductory film for Rana representing the new generation of daggubati.Second it being a Clean director Sekhar’s take on unclean politics.Lets see how it goes

Story:

Movie starts with death of the Chief minister(Suman).His Last wish was to see his US returned son Arjun(Rana) as his succesor.Arjun had a strong opposition from his cousin Dhanujay(subbaraju) and his uncle(Kota).How he cleverly manages and becomes the CM forms the initial part.

In the course,he learns the shortcomings of his father,witnesses the needs of the society.He then fights to bring out the wealth of corrupt politicians and secure a treasure for the people.He plays an intelligent and subtle game to deal with the incorrect politicians.How far he succeeds forms an interesting second part

Performances:

It’s a very complicated role for a fresher.But Rana excels as a leader.He comes out with flying colours.He convincingly portrayed the role in understated way.May be it is too early to judge his other abilities like dances and fights etc as this movie has no scope for them.

Richa plays the heroine.She is very cute and performed well. Sekhar Kammula’s heroines always had equal importance or even more than their male counter parts. But in this movie,Though Richa’s screen presence is limited,She got a prominent role.Suhasini as hero’s mother impresses.

Kota and Rao Ramesh,Tanikella barani and Ahuti Prasad made their presence felt.Subbraju as greedy politician is good and Harshavardan as hero’s friend is nice.Other heroine Priya Anand has got no importance except to supply the female quotient in the first half.

HighLights:

Sekhar Kammula no doubt made a sincere effort.He had given very tight screenplay.The movie coming amidst the similar political situation prevailing in the state might be a great co-incidence.

Music,Background score and Rerecording are excellent.Full marks to Mickey J mayer.Songs ‘Vandemataram’ and ‘aunana kaadana’ Stand out.

Udayabhanu did an item 'Rajasekhara..'.She is just ok.

Production values of AVM are very good.Photography is impressive.

Few good scenes I liked:

First speech of Rana and the way he emerges as CM.

Rana passing the cloth to a poor lady with torn clothes.

Rana’s dilaogue with Gollapudu maruthi Rao.

Rana’s speech in assembly stressing “India always remain developing country if corruption is not eradicated”

Scene between the old man and Rana in the pre-climax.

Love proposal scene of the Rana and Richa.

Dissapointments:

Sekhar never had a fear of loosing the mass audience.He this time too dissapoints them very strongly.This movie should most of earn its revenue from multiplexes again.

The way the Protagonist fights the corruption resembles Shanker’s movie ‘Oke Okkadu’.

Even the love track of hero and heroine is not so impressive,May be there is no sufficient time for it in the movie.

Few scenes where they need to be stressed are simply left in between like the last scene between Kota and Rana.

Auditorium had very few laughs all over as the movie is very serious.Movie has it own dull moments.

There should have been more political satires either from Ahuti Prasad or Kota.That would have given Comic relief and same time solved the purpose.

Bottom-line:

Sekhar might have gone the Shanker’s way.But his honest attempt might be appreciated by most of the audience. Movie will remain an average grosser as it lacks many commercial paybacks

Search for Happiness

Apart from sharing the movie stuff,I always love to share something that inspired me and which might inspire you too..

Recently I read a story which I liked very much.I would like to share it today .

We all strive for this feeling called happiness.We try to seek happiness from whatever we do,wherever we go.One might feel happy if he is busy.other if he sleeps well,Other if he has an workout in gym and there are also few who are happy when some one is unhappy and Many who are never happy.This is story of such unhappy person.

There is a rich guy who have access to all pleasures in the world.He has lots of money,but he is not happy.He could not find out the reason why he is unhappy.One fine day he packs all the treasure he has, in a box and takes that to the saint.He forwards the box over to him and ask him

“Dear Saint!Please take away all my wealth and give me the happiness”

Saint takes that box laughs at him and will run away with the box.

This guy becomes mad.Starts running behind him yelling “What a wrong thing I have done.I have given all my wealth to this bloody saint.He is such an idiot.”

After running for quiet some time,Saint comes and stands there at the place where he started.By the time our rich guy is almost exhausted and he stops before the saint and takes the deep breath. Saint hands him over the box with a smile on his face.

This guy feels very “happy” after seeing his wealth back.At that moment the Saint asks..”Are you happy now.tell me how much happy you are”.Guy replies “I am so happy that I got my wealth back”.

“Ok now tell me what you have before you met me and what is that you have now made you happy”

Rich guy has no reply.In fact he had the same box which he bought with him now .

“Yes there is nothing you have new,but you are happy now.Do you agree that this happiness lies with in us.No thing in nature can give or snatch it from us.So stop searching for happiness which already lies within you”

So Don’t you think we need to stop being unhappy and enjoy the life to the fullest..

Fresh Face(1) - Richa Gangopadhyay

Every single day, we do see many youngsters trying their luck in tinsel town .While some might shine and leave their mark ,there are many who could not .Apart from the talent, It’s luck that plays a major role in this glamour world.This Column is to have a glance of fresh faces.Are you ready..friends

This week ,Let me start with “Richa Gangopadhyay”,who is going to greet us through latest movie Leader.Before starting this article,I just thought she is like any other model entering the Tollywood.But I was completely wrong.Here are some details that might excite you too.

She was crowned Nationwide Miss India USA 2007 .Miss India USA is longest running Indian eventoutside India.She also represented USA in 17^th Annual Miss India Worldwide Pageant in South Africa.She studied in Michigan university and was topper in the course Dietetics and Nutrition.Her interest’s include dance,music,movies and teaching children about health and nutrition.

Her debut movie Leader lead by the tallest lad Rana is directed by promising director Sekhar Kammula.Sekhar kammula is always being appreciated for casting fresh faces and also bringing out best from them.His find Kamilini was liked more by mature audience. Then we have Tamanna of Happydays..who is now the most happiest lady in kollywood(tamil).

His Latest find Richa also looks very promising.She is now seen in all the promotional events of Leader.This Valentines day, she might have stolen many hearts and sooner she might rob the sleeps for many ,if everything is in place.

Seems that this Bengali beauty is keen on making big on Tollywood.Based on her active participation in the Leader promotion and track record of Sekhar,She would definitely achieve it soon ..Good Luck Richa from the bottom of my heart..;)

My Name is Khan Review

‘My Name is Khan’ brings back the combo package “Sharukh,Karan and Kajol” after 4 years .The trio is still remembered for ’ Kuch Kuch hota hai’ which over-shades much forgettable KANK.Now where does this latest movie stands and to which side it more inclines to..Let’s see

9/11 has become raw material for many scripts ,that are haunting the audience more than the misery that occurred then.We already had much of it from recent movies like Newyork,Qurbaan etc . But viewers are again forced to watch a movie with the same old theme,only because it was the king khan playing the lead this time .Well Off Course the same message can be conveyed in ‘n’ number of ways,No offense in it as we do have innumerable love stories and they are accepted well provided they are novel .

Story

Story is of a Muslim by name Rizwan khan.Rizwan suffers from strange disease (Asperger’s Syndrome:Lack of social tact, the fear of loud sounds, and an incredibly high IQ characterize the symptoms of the medical condition) due to which he could not interact with people socially.He strongly believed his mother’s words “Human’s should not be discriminated based on religion,but they differ based on their character,Good or Bad”.After his mother’s demise,He moves to USA to stay with his brother.There he meets Mandira,who lives with her six-year old son Sameer from a failed marriage.His Uniqueness brings him closer to her and they marry for peace till 9/11.The actual trouble starts post 9/11 when muslims are suspected a lot. Sameer looses his life in a tussle with few college ruffians only because his last name is ‘khan’.Shattered Mandira blames Rizwan for her loss and leaves him forever saying that he will be looked upon as a terrorist as long as he is ‘Khan’ even if he persuades US President.

Rizwan now sets out on a journey to meet US President to strongly convey his message “My name is Khan and I am not a Terrorist”.In the process he comes across many obstacles but he stand by his honesty and his belief in good brings back the support of the nation.

Good things first..

Well Story(by shibani Bhatija) was definitely different from previously made movies based on 9/11.’My Name is Khan’ emphasizes more on humanism rather than terrorism.Karan johar should be appreciated for being equally honest as his lead character in the driving the point.There’s no place for candid Romance or irritating comedy.Some sparks seen all through the movie definitely remarks his evolution of maturity.

Sharukh khan as a man with a disorder gets his character right.His body-language and expressions were marvelous. Definitely some may find his acting monotonous ,but sharukh instills that aspect in his character so much that as the time passes one starts appreciating him.Kajol still has it in her.She was amazing .She is still the same girl next door,carries both happy and tragic moments with a great ease.

On-Screen chemistry of the lead pair that is also the USP of the movie has lightened up the screen once again.They both make undoubtedly one of the best pairs of Indian cinema.Jimmy Shergil,Soniya Jehan(sharuks bro and bhaabi) and Zarina wahab(mother) stands out in the remaining screen space available.The small boy who acted as sameer acted well.

Cinematography and production values are superb and top-notch.

Music by Shanker-ehsaan-Loy do not create any magic this time.

What went wrong!!!

Movie is lengthy and it comes as bitter capsule(lacks entertainment).There are some countable factors that went wrong that unknowingly has spoilt or we can say killed the spirit and made the movie short of being called a great movie.Firstly viewers felt basic theme, outdated as it being tested several times and its been long time now since the 9/11 happened.

Definitely our Indian cinema is proud that it is accepted globally,But what is still irritating is some stupid Bollywood liberties our directors take .It’s mere foolishness making the people belonging to other part of the world behave in stupidly.Like in Qurbaan, we see Saif killing number of cops in no time and here Sharukh reaches Georgia to save the people in floods before the US government could react upon it. Karan shows off his extra talent in few scenes where entire episode of Khan mania is slightly over-hyped.

Final Verdict :

Sharukh once again lost the battle against Aamir,but he should be appreciated for playing a role atleast more meaningful compared to his previous movies. No Review can stop the fans of the lead pair and trio off course in watching the movie.And this time they might not repeat even half the success of Karan’s debut venture.Those who watched the movie would definitely remind Karan the old proverb"Dog should do its duty ,while donkey should do it's".Watch it if u love the lead pair and you will definitely enjoy the movie if you like Karan Johar has just got up from the long Sleep after 9/11.

Bindaas Review

Bindaas..”Ajay gaadi vijaya gaada”

Bindas starring Manchu manoj released this week. Ajay gaadi vijaya gaada is initial title choosen for this movie

Movie is directed by Veeru Potla who penned stories for Varsham and Nuvvostantey nennoddantana.

Lets see how it is..

Story:

One would expect a great story for a story writer debut directorial venture.

But he dissapoints in that aspect.Nothing new in story.

Ajay(Manoj) belongs to a factionist family headed by mahendra naidu(Ahuti Prasad).Ajay's father dies when he is young.His other family members always illtreats him.There have been rivalry between his family and their enemy seshadri naidu(Jayaprakash reddy).How hero enters villian family and put an end to all rivalry and finally wins over the hearts of all his family members is the remaining story.

Don’t worry this time we don’t have heroine as the daughter of the villian.But she is manoj’s own aunts daughter(maradalu).Movie is yet another routine one which borrows many resemblances from Old movies like Kalisundam Raa,Ready etc

Actors:

Movie belongs to Manoj.He has improved a lot in performance.He has done some daredevil stunts.He carried all the movie on his shoulders.This guy unlike his brother Vishnu has come with some experimental movies like “nenu meeku telusa” and “Prayanam”.So no wrong in he choosing commercial formula this time.

Supporting cast is too huge with Ahutiprasad,jayaprakash reddy,vennela kishore etc.Comedy is handled by Master Bharath,Sunil,Brahmanandam,Raghu Babu.All are good.

Sheena is female lead.But she looks like kid.She has nothing to do except the skin show in songs.That too does not appeal too much as it gives a wrong signals as she has not matured enough.

ScreenPlay/Dailogues/Direction/Music:

Though story is old,what makes this movie just cross the average level are dailogues and a bit fresh treatment and a huge supporting cast.Dialogues by Veeru potla himself are current,witty touching all recent affairs..from cricket to politics.I could see audience enjoying many dailogues.Screenplay is crispy without much lags.Direction is ok

Music is huge dissapointment with some loud music.Songs in second half are placed in very inapt scenes just for the reason we should have atleast 5 songs in commercial film.

Final Verdict :

Though basic story do not offer anything new,Movie wont bore you completely thanks to manoj,Dialogues and good comedy timing of Director.If you have no work and have free time to kill and could spare few bucks,You can watch this movie.Movie wont trouble you and gives half paisa vasool.

Generation Wars

We had heard about World War and Cold War, It’s time for us to watch out for a new war “G-War 2010” (abbrevation for Generation WarJ) in Tollwood industry.Yes this year 2010 is about to witness movies from the stars belonging to same family competing with each other.

As we know that Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh and Balakrishna were prominent stars in Tollywood till now or may be till yesterday.Now we have new set of stars in the form of their successors.Now that their Children are ready with their movies when Father’s are still in the race, we are about to see the release clashes of the movies from these two generations.


Beginning this year, we had the release Namo “Venkatesh”a, which did an average business, thanks to the Pongal season and the family image Venkatesh carries.Now we are going to witness one more movie from the same family.Leader, the launchpad of Daggubati Rana (He is named after his grandfather RamaNaidu -The first Letters of the name Ra and Na) is about to release on the eve of Shivarathri.Movie is directed by Sekhar Kammula.This hatrick director has a niche for himself in class audience.Movie focuses about the role of youth in Politics. Apt to current Political situation prevailing in our state added to the festival celebrations, this movie is no doubt the most awaiting one of the season.


But the challenge is RaNa is competing with his Uncle Nagarjuna whose movie ‘Kedi’ is releasing just a day later.Kedi is directed by debutant Kiran and has sexy Mamatha mohan das filling the other half.Movie deals about Car robberies,Gambling etc and it has many bollywood actors playing prominent roles. Said to be shot lavishly, Kedi too have good chances to win the BoxOffice collections.

Following it we have the release of Nagachaitanya’s second movie ‘Yem Maaya chesaave’.Being directed by acclaimed director Goutam menon and music provided by Osacr and Grammy award winner Maestro ARRahman.Audio is released recently and incidentally this is first release after Rahman receiving the Oscar.Story is about Assistant director falling in love.Kannada beauty Samantha is making her debut in telugu.Movie is shot in beautiful locations across USA,Kerala and Chennai.Crew is very confident about the result.Movie is simultaneously made in tamil as “Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya” with Simbhu and Trisha in lead .

Might be a mere Co-incidence, we had a release of yesteryears everlasting classic Mayabazaar this week.Movie has the senior Akkineni as loverboy Abhimanyu .It’s an altogether amazing experience watching the marvellous treasure in color. It’s a sweet tribute to wonderful stars.

Similarly we have three releases from Nandamuri family too covering all three generations.While Jr NTR’s Adhurs is declared the winner of the sankranthi battle followed by Mayabazar that has Viswavikyatha Natasaarvabhouma NTR too became a grand success. With the presence of hot Nayantara, Voluptuous Namitha and cute SnehaUllal providing the glamour quotient, direction being handled by Boyapati sreenu who delivered Bhadra and Tulasi, the movie has reasonable expectations considering the poor track record of balayya.
So it’s like stars of three generations have their releases simultaneously.It was never before in Tollywood history.

This is not the end of these wars.We had 4 releases this year from Mega family too spanning 2 generations.As Chiru said adieu to movies,Pawan kalyan is leading the team. His latest movie Puli might see the light this summer. Directed by SJ Surya and Music is by ARRahman once again, Movie shows the story of strict police officer.Nikisha patel is being introduced as the lead,while Shriya is doing an item.The super hit combination of hero-director duo has surely raised the expectations of Mega Fans.
We have two releases from Allu Arjun this year, One is Varudu directed by technically brilliant director Gunasekhar.The movie has 20 real time families as part of cast and the recently released posters raised many eyebrows.Second Movie of his is again a much awaited multistarrer Vedam.Movie is directed by Krishh who delivered critically acclaimed Gamyam.Anushka and Manchu Manoj are the other lead characters.
RamcharanTeja who delivered Stupendous hit ‘Magadheera’ last year will conclude the year with his movie “Orange” directed by Bomarillu Bhasker.Genelia is his co-star. Ramcharan acting as a Playboy in the movie has a chance to romance 3 more beauties.Rumours say that movie is roughly on the lines of Ranbir’s Bachna Ye hasino..

Was it not Lot of info and at the same time interesting.Does it remind you of an episode of Ramayana where Lava and Kusa dare to face their Dad Lord SreeRama.
Anyways these sort of clashes will definitely effect the collections and the period of Run of those movies if gap between their release is less.On the flipside, its an opportunity for each family to play multiple innings and definitely whoever wins will bring the success home.Lets see which Family scores more…

RANN Review..

I have grown up watching Varmas movies.His Debut movie shiva is itself a trendsetter.

Till date he has given us quality movies and at the same time biggest duds of the box office, grabbing the Critic’s attention to the fullest.

His Latest offering Rann, somehow could satisfy most of the Critics.Its my privilege to write something about RGV’s movie.

Rann aims at the media.The way the media is creating stories, falsifying the facts, craving for the TRP’s.

Good things first.

RGV should be commended for weaving a good story to cover the aspects he wish to deliver.

Secondly it’s a good story telling in a simple manner.

Story revolves around several characters

The idealistic Vijay Harshvardhan Malik(AB) who runs a TV channel based on the morals which no longer exist in today’s world.

His Son Jai(Played by Kannada actor Sudeep),A US returned, who is over-ambitious and in process falls prey for corrupt political game.

Pandey (Paresh rawal), A seedy politician who with the help of Jai, misues the Vijay Malik’s reputation for political gain

Purab (Riteish Deshmukh) Upcoming Journalist, hard core fan of Vijay malik who strives for his ideals.

Performances

Amitab has reached a stage where his mere presence speaks thousand .The central Character Vijay malik needs a personality with a kind of stature,which Amitab easily fits in.He excelled in Climax episode.

Sudeep is brilliant .We can definitely see more of him in RGV’s films(forthcoming Phoonk2).

Ritesh performed well as idealistic journalist.

It’s a cake-walk for Paresh Rawal .Monish Behl acted as rival television tycoon.

It might be shocking to see bombshell Neetu chandra(Jai’s love interest) fully dressed .Might be Varma reserved her other side for future films!!

Disappointments

Movie is more of dialogue and less in entertainment.Though in pace ,is predictable at times.

The similar set up is seen in movies like Corporate, Company etc.It’s just the difference in the background.

Final Verdict

The Story that ends by making the Good win over the bad satisfies the audience.

RGV cleverly sticks to the basics this time to win over the critics.

The social cause, Brilliant performances, Come back of RGV, Good one-liners make it a worth watchable...
