Simha Review

1 2 3 4 5 6 ..Hold on I am not counting the numbers..But years..Yes it’s been almost 6 years since a reasonable good film from BalaKrishna came.So When the New Film is titled “Simha” the name which bought Balayya Ultimate Success, has sprinkled hopes among fans. Also Director Boyapati Sreenu who delivered reasonable hits like Bhadra and Tulasi…mounted up the expectations.

Let’s see how far it could fulfill those expectations..

Story :

Srimanarayana(Balakrishna) is a Lecturer who could not tolerate any indiscipline among his students.Every thing goes well till Sneha Ullal enters the college as the final year student.

What is the problem behind sneha Ullal?

What is the interesting story about his father Laxmi NaraSimha a doctor in Bobbili??are revealed in the high voltage second half

While Namitha sizzles as Co-lecturer in the same college..NayanaTara shines as the wife to other Balayya in second half.

ScreenPlay/Direction :

Boyapati Sreenu should be highly appreciated for presenting BalaKrishna in two different and respectable roles. Screenplay in both halves went almost smoothly except for few liberties taken to include songs and love tracks.

Making Movie with Balakrishna is really tough job.It’s like walking on a rope connecting two mountains!!

Yes a slight miss right from hair style,Dailogues,Fights..Movie falls prey to innumerable funny mails and articles..But Sreenu passed in his effort with good marks.

Direction is cool...with no jerks and jatkas..Offcourse it is routine action and Masala Formula No doubt in it, But Characterizations of the hero are different. Actually the professions he has chosen allowed him to create few good scenes in both first half and Second half.

Analysis (First and Second halves)

First half went pleasantly with love triangle and few good comedy scenes from Ali,VenuMadhav ,Crispy dialogues, a Car chase, Two fights..College back ground is clever indeed.

Scenes on acid attacks and Drugs are received well

Second half presents BalaKrishna in a different get up. Though the entire episodes can be predicted, there are few good scenes like

1. Dialog at police station

2. KR Vijaya Sentiment scene and NayanaTara dialogue scene with Police.

3. Excellent fight scene in pre-climax.

Dialog's scores in all scenes : "nenu maataldeppudu nee chevulu maatramey pani cheyyali..""charithra srustinchalanna..adi tiraga raayalanna maa vamsamey""Padi mandi tho raa..padi padi penchukutoo raa....padi saarlu raa"

Action episodes are canned very well, thanks to the Fight Master.

Actors :

It's BalaKrishna All through..His action and make up in second half is huge asset to movie.He still performed good in dances.Offcourse ample dialogs to amuse the fans.Fights are solid.Nice effort.But he could not cover his age in many scenes in first half .

Sneha Ullal is cute.She looked good in all the scenes.

NayanaTara looked complete;)..Yes with rich costumes..quite different from her bikini shows.She has performed well in few scenes given to her.

Namitha definitely is not for the telugu audience and I am not sure about receiving her in B and C centers.But the role given to her is enjoyable.I felt the Pub song should have been given to some item girl .She is ok in “simhamanti Chinnodey”

KR Vijaya did important role and she is nice. For reference She acted as Balayyas mother in Bhairava dweepam too.Kota sreenivasa Rao is good.

Main villain and his son are nice.Seems like they are malayali’s

Raghu yesteryear actor of ‘Chinnari sneham’ is seen in important role of Sneha Ullals father.

Venumadhav,Ali and KrishnaBhagwan’s satires on software..Marriage are humorous.

Brahmanandam and Jhansi are wasted.

Other Departments and Positive points:

Songs and background score by chakri are good.Simhamanti Chinnodey,Bangaru konda stands out.Even Lakshmi Narasimha kalyanam Song is appealing.

Camera work is excellent.Every scene looks appealing especially in later half.

Drawbacks:

Well all said.. The set up and the scenes are nice but predictable.Nothing that strikes you so hard and make you say “Wow ..this is extra ordinary”.So everything is normal.

So huge expectations on the same might disappoint you.

Though created high voltage,Unavoidabe Bloodshed is seen in all through the second half

Namitha is also a drawback.

Final Verdict :

“Balayya babu tho manchi cinema teeyadam Brahma vidye..”

BoyaPati Sreenu is successful in making a decent and appealing effort since LaxmiNarasimha..

Fans over there can happily enjoy the movie..Others can have a look if they are interested in regular Masala flick we saw in mid 2000’s.

Nice Publicity,Summer time..different Balayya ,Presence of Nayanatara and SnehaUllal will give it reasonable success.

Rating:

For Fans..it is 3.5 Yes because it showcases their fav star in decent way..But for others it might be lesser say 3..!!

This is Keeravani Musical.3 songs are real good.Above title song and other song “Leraa Chanti “ sung by Karthik stand out. Incidentally this is 200^th movie of Keeravani.Kudo's Keeravani garu!! Movie is scheduled for May 7^th Release.

All the songs in this Album are very nice.Mass Songs and Class songs are composed well by Chakri.

Interesting and different Album by new music director Sunil Kashyap.Also lyrics are classy and top notch.

But we need to give multiple listening to get through them..But you will love the end result.

Wow this is a surprise Album.And this song is really awesome..Please do listen to it.

Movie is directed by Dasari Narayana Rao.He is introducing several new actors.

Music is Again by Maestro Keeravani.So this is his 201^st film…

OMG this song is also sung by my favorite Karthik..

Darling Review

‘ Darling ‘ brings together the peculiar combination of a Director Karunakaran who could only make Love Stories and a 6-feet tall 6-pack hero Prabhas whose hit movies are only Action movies so far.

So this brought a sort of curiosity as to watch out "who goes in who’s way".

Let us check out whether Darling has any chances to enjoy this hot summer coolly.

Story:

We all know that Karunakaran only makes love stories. But if we closely observe he repeatedly cooked same love story every time

i.e. “A care-free irresponsible Hero falls for a studious and responsible girl..After all the pranks and efforts of the hero, the heroine discloses her love just in the climax”. Yes offcourse this is the story of Tholiprema,Vasu,Ullasamga Utsahanga and no points for the guesses same story for the Darling too! However he comes up with different treatment each time, just to roam around the bush for telling the same.

So here Prabhas loves his childhood friend Nandini(Kajal).How he impresses her and wins her finally forms the two halves of the movie. Though sounds the same old story,Karukaran tried a little different screenplay in first half. Atleast that need to be watched on screen instead of me telling the same.

Actors :

Prabhas did complete justice to the lover boy’s role. He, this time stepped into shoes of Family hero Venkatesh.He fights well when needed.Dances well when asked for.He along with his friends makes you laugh just as Venky used to do.Good both we and him got a relief from his regular action stuff.

But..But one could feel that’s not just enough .There are quite a few scenes where Prabhas looks just struck!!.Reason might be few scenes where director himself has no clarity. Actually Prabhas should by now be able to cover such gaps!But Still his sincere effort to try new waters will be appreciated highly.

Kajal Agarwal does well in the looks department.But she just scores pass marks in terms of performance,Especially in the first half. 'Come on Kajal,just wake up before you are washed away by Samantha’s magic..'

Tamil Actor Prabhu acted well in the role of Prabhas’s father.Chandramohan made his presence felt.

Ahuthi Prasad,MS Narayana,Dharmavarapu,Kota are just ok.

Shradda Das has brief appearance,while Mukesh Rishi ends up as comedian though makes his entry as villain.

Small kid who did the role of Kajal’s brother is promising.

Prabhas’ gang could evoke few smiles all over.

Direction:

Karunakaran has set a bench mark for love stories with his debut “TholiPrema” .Sadly he himself could not even try hard to reach it.In Darling, He could not really make audience connect to the love episode so strongly. Throughout the movie, he conceived the love angle as a race that could be achieved in certain timeline and so at least the feel which is there in his earlier movies is not carried in any moment .

However he could manage to win the family audience making use of sentiment scenes in the last hour.

Analysis :

There is nothing offered in First half except for locales of Swiss. Actual “story!!” begins post interval.

Every piece of the second half is almost predictable. Yes when you expect a fight,Hero jumps into an action episode and then dances for a dream sequence following it just to complete your guess. Whenever you expect a twist,Luckily you won’t find it.

Movie takes a little dramatic turn with the episode involving Chandramohan’s Daughter. Director utilized this episode efficiently to unite the lead pair and at the same time convey some nice messages about the Parental affection and Value of friendship.

Positive Points:

Prabhas carried the movie on his shoulders to greater extent.

GV Prakash nephew of ARRehman scored the music .Songs are just ok. Costumes and concepts behind the few songs are good. Especially idea of snowfall in hyderabad is very nice.I liked “Ho Saahorey” .

Cinematography by Andrew could capture nice locales from Swiss and Araku.

Fights by Peter Heines are impressive.Three Action episodes are inserted well.Very First one in the Market is good.

Few dialogues had good response.My pick : “Switzerland lo kooda Slum untadani teliyadu ra…” “Match Stick lightening”

Overall the last 40 min, the emotional graph is conceived in better way compared to the whole movie.

Drawbacks:

The costumes(in routine scenes) used for Prabhas are dull .I guess the night shirts we wear in home are far better.Costumes in songs are good.

Silly first half,Predictable second half,Mediocre Back ground Music. etc and etc.

Lack of depth in the love episodes,Especially it is a disappointing effort from Karunakaran

Final verdict:

“Parledu”..”Baane undi” “okka saari choodochu”..Yes these are the phrases that ring in your mind once you are out from the theatre.

A Bit different Screen Play(I wonder some might not even digest it), few hiralious episodes and few good scenes in later half,Prabhas factor might provide it decent mileage this summer.

One can watch it once for Different Prabhas and also Time Pass!!

Rating:

3 points for Second half and 2 for the first.If Second half leaves a better impact ,then it is 3.

Otherwise go for the Maths(A+B/2)..;)

SnehaGeetam Songs ..Youthful Music

“Sneha Geetam” A youthful entertainer with college background is all set to drench the audience this Rainy season.Movie also boasts of scintillating music album.Songs which are released almost six months back have slowly but greatly reaching now all sets of audience.

Given the genre of the movie..songs are excellent..Very meaningful Lyrics..Album is great fusion of Fast beats and Melodies..Music lovers should liston it!

Music is given by Sunil Kashyap.He earlier gave music to film by name “Ninnu Kalisaka(Usha Kiran Movies)”.

Songs are penned by Chinni Charan and C.Ram Srikanth.Wondering who this C.Ram Srikanth is!!He is shortly known as Sirasri..Yes you are there..he writes reviews in Greatandhra..:)

Prasthanam Review

Few years back we had a movie by name “Vennela” from the director Deva Katta who is debutant then. He proved his mettle with ”Vennela” which is altogether a fresh entertainer focusing on NRI’s.And now the theme he has chosen for his second venture “Prasthanam” surprised everyone because of complete variation .This time he has come with a wonderful emotional saga with political background. While the trailers and the stills caused ample curiosity,the director lived up to the expectations and proved that he is not a one film wonder.

Let’s check out briefly about the Prasthanam

Story : Lokanatham(SaiKumar) an assistant of a local leader need to take over the power when the later is murdered in the election campaign.Circumstances force him to remarry his boss’s wife and take care of the step kids.Meanwhile he has his own son.

While Lokanatham’s step son Mitra(Sarwanand) grows politically strong,Chinna(Sudeep Kishan-New comer) feels deserted .This bitter rivalry between the step son’s gives way to unending chaos in the family.

Whose side their father inclines to? What is final destiny of each character? forms the crux of the movie.

Characters/Actors:

It ‘s not only the actors but the characters which stand out in the movie.

Sarwanand as the step son has come up with commendable performance. He played it very subtle. His niche for choosing movies of different genres need to be appreciated. The character he played needs a guy with star image.He must thank the so called stars of Tollywood who rejected this movie as they thought the movie might not suit their image. But Sarwanand could carry the role efficiently with his rough looks and a low profile portrayal. He definitely has long way to go as an actor.

Sai Kumar ,the man who supported several characters with his voice(dubbing) had really got very few chances actually to live his voice.I believe he utilized most of them, Whether it be ‘Police story’ or ’Samanyudu’.And now Prasthanam showcases his acting prowess to the peaks.He is vivacious and the role is strong enough to utilize him to the fullest, thanks to wonderful dialogues.Though sometimes he is loud,It be might his thirst for the elevating the character.I have many words to say,but revelation of his character should be watched on screen.

Sudeep kishan also did extremely well.It is really tough role for a beginner. His confidence is seen in every scene.

Not only these 3 people, but each and every artist in the movie has significant role to play.

Surekhavani as Sarwanands sister got a meaty role .Jeeva as wicked politician is good.

Jayaprakash Reddy has wonderful comic role who along with his assistant Prithvi(30 year’s industry) provided great relief with complete hilarious punches.

One cannot forget the roles of Basha(Saikumars right hand)and an inspector who supports Saikumar , Girl(Reshma) who played the love interest of chinna etc.

Vennela Kishore had few sparks.This kind of roles are earlier played by sunil.

Heroine Ruby neither possess great looks nor have a role to play.She can be ignored.

Highlights

Story,Screenplay,Dialogues and Direction :

All these departments are handled by Deva katta in a way that each competes with the other.

Story is the huge asset of the movie. It brilliantly covered the various shades of human nature,Discussing the Minute variation between good and bad(forgiveness and revenge). I have never seen a movie with such an awesome story in recent times.

Dialogues are the best part of the movie. Many great one liners from Saikumar (like Charithra lo herolu villain lu undaru swaardaparu tappa,Manishi tanu naatina vittananney adi pandinappudu kostaadu etc etc).Not only the serious dialogues, but comedy Dialogues on JP spilled several smiles in theatre.

Deva Katta is simply superb in direction department too.Apart from conveying the complete story efficiently,He grabbed best of performances from his artistes.

Movie might have been made on small scale,but possess rich look and the credit goes to excellent Cinematography by Shamdat.

Mahesh shanker has given decent background score. But he failed in providing good songs. 3-4 songs among total 6 can be completely trimmed off.

Producers should be appreciated for funding such a wonderful movie.

Drawbacks:

Songs are a drawback for the movie. Songs in first half looked so dull though they are situational may be due to lack of appealing glamour. Though duets in second half are better, they prolonged the duration of movie.

Though I felt the 3 hours of run time thoroughly enjoyable, some might feel uncomfortable with this heavy dosage.

Due to Extreme violence and bloodshed in the movie, Movie is given “A”. At least some scenes showing the blood would have been cut short.

Final Verdict :

Those who love the serious and sensible movie, There can’t be much better than Prasthanam at least so far in this year. we might have seen many characters from the epics so far, but in this movie they are unique and had no resemblances. I am sure one will take home the characters once they leave the theatres.

It’s excellent blend of human emotions and political drama. I say never miss it !!

I felt that recent movie Leader which is made on politics lacked this powerful punch!

Rating :

Commercial success of the movie depends on the fate of other star-studded summer releases and the spread of positive talk .I feel strongly that this movie stands somewhere between 3.5 to 4 on scale of 5

Fresh Face(5) - Ruby Parihar

This week we had another fresh face entering into this filmy world of “clap,action,cut”.

She is Ruby Parihar.This Delhi based girl is making her debut through ‘Prasthanam’ which is scheduled for April 16^th Release.She is acting opposite young actor Sarwanand in the movie.

Ruby has just completed Fashion designing course in Delhi. Acting was never her dream. She stepped into this colorful land very unexpectedly. Moreover she being completely alien to south Indian movies, it was a huge surprise for her to make her debut through a Telugu film. Hmm..So strange is destiny, while many youngsters are striving for a chance, opportunity by itself knocked her door.

She is acting as a medico in Prasthanam. Movie is directed by Deva Katta, who earlier directed Vennela. Incidentally Vennala movie was the debut movie of tall girl Parvathi Melton.

Ruby seems to have already fallen in love with this glamour world and she is now eagerly waiting for her debut movie to really do well. By the way she already signed a kannada movie.

In a day or two, we all can decide whether she is really Ruby or just an ordinary stone..!!

Simha Songs Simply Superb

“Simha” the latest movie of Balakrishna is all set to roar at the Box Office this Summer.

The Audio of the movie is already doing wonders all over the AP.Music Director Chakri who is teaming up with Balayya for the first time has given Superb Mass tunes for this movie.

Let’s go into detail of each song :

దేనికి దేనికి..దేనికి యెనకెనకే వస్తావు దేనికీ?

Kunal Ganjawala and Tina Kamal have sung this Song.

For starters Kunal sung many bollywood songs like “Beege honte tera(Murder)” to “Raat ke daai bhaje(Kaminey)”.Also he sang “Jagadame(Pokiri)” ,”Tututu(Ready)” etc in telugu .His voice bought much required energy to this rocking number.

Bhasker bhatla wrote this song. Very good start for the album.The pace Continues till the end.

This time the singers are Udit Narayan and Anjana sowmya.I was pleasantly surprised when Udit Narayan who is good for melodies sung this fast Mass beat.It is altogether Variety one for him.May be because of starting hindi lyrics “అచ్చా హై ..అచ్చా హై”..He easily plunged into this song..

His enthuse is seen all through the song.Chandrabose penned the lyrics this song.

Excellent Peppy number.Seem to be Pub song.I guess this might be hero’s intro song.

It beats out any other previous Pub songs.Sung by new singer Simha and Adharshini .

Both are very energetic.Especially Adharshini’s husky voice made the song more vigorous..

Special mention to chandrabose’s lyrics..He used words Taquila,Rum,Shampaign,Pepper,Peg etc effectively to highlight the pub atmosphere..

Hey..Before anyone Comes to conclusion that album is comprised of Mass songs,This melody surprises us.Very good Melody infact very unique one from Chakri.

Voices by Hariharan and Kausalya elevated the beauty of song.The Stills are out for this song and reveal that this is picturised on Balakrishna and NayanaTara .

This is melodious marriage Song. Sung by Malavika very melodiously.

Lyrics are by veteran lyricist Veturi are Excellent. Seems like this song is marriage song of the God Lakshmi Narasimha.Music director chakri’s voice is only heard in this song in the beginning.

"సింహ"మంటి చిన్నొడే వేటకొచ్చాడే..అడవిలాంటి అందాలే ఆక్రమించాడే..

Good Mass number.

It is amusing to liston to Veteran Singer Mano’s voice after long gap.Sravani Bhargavi gave the female voice.Seems that her voice suits the Mass songs very well.Again Peppy lyrics by chandrabose are funny and make this song a good listen.

Chakri’s sincere effort towards the music album is seen all over. He pitched in different voices for each song.Provided completely different Mass tunes.While Chandrabose and Bhaskarabhatla provided catchy Lyrics,The Beats in between the lines are also too good. Altogether this album stands beside chakri’s good works like “Idiot,Avunu Vallidaru istapaddaru..Devadas etc”

Trust me given a two or three listenings You will love the Album

Simha is gearing up for release on April 30^th . Nayanatara,Sneha Ullal and Namitha are pairing up with Balayya.

Though one cannot predict the Box-office result of Balakrishna’s movie, Chakri’s Sincere effort in making this album should be appreciated. Let us hope that Success won’t play hide and Seek with BalaKrishna this time at least.

Prince..Review

Vivek Oberoi,Most of them might have forgotten this “Company” star.But he made surprise visit to the theatres this week as Prince!!Moreover he is doing the lead role in Much Awaited RGV’s “Raktha Charithra”. So one can treat this as warm up session

Story :

Prince is seen waking up in a bungalow somewhere in deserts of South Africa only to realize that he has become Ghazini(yupp he loses his memory).He Slowly realizes that he has stolen a “Valuable” coin worth of 1000 million(Really don’t know on what basis producers attach a price tag!!) and Police and Goons are behind him to grab it.As luck would have it he is hit by three hot beauties,Where in each claim thats he is his girl friend “Maya”.

So who is Real Maya?What is that Coin about?How The Prince lost his memory?Does he get it back???

Hold on..Hold on..If you try to find answers to these questions..I am sure you gonna loose your memory..

Yeah..From the very first scene you realize that it have been better if you had kept your brain in a refrigerator while coming to the movie because the Prince has every chance to steal it.

Have you ever seen a memory chip which analyses the brain and shows all the past happenings on a HD TV!!!!Yes actually this "Extra Ordinarily artificial Mind-blocking invention"memory chip is embedded in that coin..And for this coin..All the brainless characters run all through the movie..

Though continuous noise of bullets annoys us severely,Not even a single bullet hurts the Prince..

That’s not the end..Our Prince jumps from the skyscrapers like a Batman and clings to the walls like a SpiderMan.Funniest part is he has some Bus or Lorry where he falls finally.

Anyways this movie serves you better to have quite a few laughs

Actors :

Vivek Oberoi lost the charm.Nandana Sen did better among 3 ladies.

Remaining characters are dumb.

Don’t ever get tempted of the hot ladies and I think they can be better viewed online. Trust me none of the three have in them.

Final Verdict :

I wish at least some of you save few bucks and spend the same for charity!!

Because Prince will mince our little brain for sure J

1 and half out of 5 because we did have really nice time laughing all over and Off course movie duration is just 2 hours
